Underground pipeline leaks are one of the most difficult challenges for water utilities, often leading to significant water loss and infrastructure maintenance costs. To improve leak detection efficiency, Hunan Puqi Geologic Exploration Equipment Institute has developed the PQ125 Series Smart Leak Detector, a portable system designed to quickly locate hidden leaks in municipal water networks.
The device combines dual-membrane resonance sensors, acoustic cavity sensors, and tracer gas detection technology, enabling engineers to detect leak signals even in complex environments. The system operates within a 1 Hz–10 kHz acoustic frequency range, capturing both high-frequency leak sounds and low-frequency signals that travel through soil and pipe walls.
Advanced signal processing powered by a PNEAUD H7 32-bit processor ensures high-precision analysis. With 24-bit signal conversion and a 48 kHz sampling rate, the system can distinguish leak noise from background interference.
Designed for field operations, the detector features 10-level adjustable gain and volume settings, helping technicians adapt to different inspection conditions. The 7-inch display interface allows operators to visualize leak signal waveforms and compare multiple inspection points.
Thanks to its portable structure (0.6 kg main unit) and up to 8 hours of operating time, the PQ125 leak detector enables maintenance teams to locate underground pipeline leaks faster and with greater confidence.
